What: Tri tip steak in the cast iron
Who: n/a (whoops I forgot to take a pic to send to my parents)
Notes:
- I'm not sure if I've seen tri tip packaged as a steak before, but hey why not
- Safeway labeled this cut: "Beef Loin Tri Tip Steak Thin"; it was ~1/2in thick; on sale for $8/lb
- I would like to learn more about the different cuts of beef; e.g. which is from where; e.g. which cuts are best for which cooking methods; etc.
- I seasoned one with salt and pepper and one with a premade "mesquite" spice mix
- The one with just salt and pepper was way better.
- So buttery!! Steak is yummy. Being a vegetarian would be hard.
- Overcooked it a little, but did a decent job!
